On March 28, 2024, Binh Duong provincial police arrested Nguyen Duc Do and charged him with "abusing democratic freedoms" under Art. 331.

Do was arrested for the content of Facebook posts deemed to slander the authorities, specifically speaking out about the case of death row inmate Ho Duy Hai, who many believe was unjustly convicted.

Arrested at the same time was fellow blogger Hoang Quoc Viet.
