Trung was arrested without a warrant and taken to the police station for interrogation. He was not allowed to see a lawyer. The Public security asked him about his Facebook posts and to sign papers confirming those were his writings. They asked if he was involved with overseas democracy group Viet Tan or former political prisoner Nguyen Van Dai. He said at one point he was slapped in the face. He felt intimidated and decided to sign papers saying he was well treated so that they’d let him go. He was released after five days.
