According to our source, Hue might not be very active online but participated in several anti-China and anti-Formosa protests in 2016 and 2018.

On the morning of August 11, Hue left his home in Dong Nai with District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City as the destination in mind. Normally, to attract public attention and maximize the effect of a demonstration, protesters usually choose District 1 as the protest location.

However, on his way to District 1, he was quickly arrested. He was interrogated for over a day without warrant or justified reason. While he had a phone with him, the police forcefully took it away and did not allow him to contact his family to let them know about his situation. They only informed the local police in Dong Nai about his arrest.

At 20:30 pm August 12 2019, he was able to go home and his phone was only given back on August 13.
