Arrested May 18, 2017. Sentenced to 6 years in prison under Art. 88 (1999 Code). Expected Release is May 18, 2023.
Nguyen Nhat Truong was arrested on May 18, 2017, at his family's home. The house was put under siege by authorities at the time of the arrest, blasted with water cannons that injured many inside. Truong's cousin, uncle, and brother were also arrested. The four were reportedly arrested for making and flying the flag of the former Republic of Vietnam.
