At 9:00 am on February 27, 20918, Daniel Modan and his friend, Tran Duy Chien, were arrested when buying a beverage at a coffee shop at the intersection between Alexander and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. They were separated at the police station.

Police confiscated Chien’s mobile phone, personal documents and money. Chien was released on February 28 after being interrogated continuously, while Daniel Modan was still detained at Detention Center T2, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

It was reported that Daniel has been deported and reached Paris, France on April 19, 2019.
