Thien An Monastery is a historical monastery located in Thua Thien Hue Province. A large portion of their land is now targeted by the local authorities. In several standoffs, the authorities have taken down a Jesus Christ statue and have continuously harassed the monastery’s monks. Head of Thien An Monastery, Father Anthony Nguyen Huyen Duc, was barred from entering the country after a trip to Germany.
